About the Southwark Pension Fund
The London Borough of Southwark Pension Fund is part of the national Local Government Pension Scheme (‘LGPS’), a statutory scheme established by an Act of Parliament and governed by the Public Services Pensions Act 2013 (‘PSPA 2013’). Across England and Wales there are 86 LGPS Funds that are administered locally.
The Fund is administered by Southwark Council and is a defined benefit pension scheme, which provides for the payment of pensions and other related benefits to employees and former employees of the Council and other participating employers.
The Fund had over 27,500 members and c£2.3 billion in assets as of 31 March 2025.
